Around the World and Back

Aletheia Fest in Lohja, August 2025

A one day event on the countryside near Lohja, a wonderful area with a quite spacious venue for music, theater or any live art. Actions can also take place outside between the trees or at the lake beach.

In a time when the world is slowly getting more and more crazy I felt I had to relate my action with the ongoing madness. I chose the outside of the round building venue. I had tightly rolled up a woolen thread of ca. 70 meters and put it in my mouth. Taking out the beginning of the thread I knotted it at the entrance door and started to walk backwards around the building that is built on a hilly terrain. Every now and then I taped leaflets with short texts about what was happening right at that time: Gaza, Trump, Sudan etc. till I came back at the door from the other side.
With the end of the thread still in my mouth I started to turn around my axis, thereby rolling the thread around my face and then my body. Stumbling down and around the building I lost and regained my balance all the way upwards back to the door again. Utterly dizzy I cut the thread with tiny scissors.
