The Other BodyA collaboration with Dominique Serena Antognioni
in La Bicicleteria, Sevilla, Spain March 26th 2025 The start of my 'Spanish tour 25' took place in Sevilla, the hometown of Serena, who organizes events in former bike shop, then squatted café/bar, now renowned 'place to be' in the very center of Sevilla. In the tiny space above the bar some 25 people were crammed to witness our art action. Half an hour later another 25 people watched us. Last year we had our first collaboration with 'The Space Between', this time we opted for another experiment: the video projection of Serena's body parts on my body. As a preparation we made a series of video images of some of her body parts. With a close up of her eye I asked her to think of various situations as to catch the emotional responses she was dealing with. The action itself was presented in the space mentioned above. Sitting on a stool I took off my shirt and Serena prepared the handheld video projector. Lights off and in the pitch darkness the images appeared on my body. Her hair on my breast, her foot on my belly, her mouth on my mouth, her eye on my bald head. In between the projections I took my saxophone-mouthpiece-attached-to-a-hose and produced some outlandish sounds. The final projection was her eye on my head. |
