Contact Adhesive
This was the first time that i did a performance using the sticky side of industrial tape to make a literal contact with people from the audience.
First I taped my hand and invited somebody from the audience to do the same. This made shaking hands a sticky business. Scissors were needed to free ourselves.
Then I taped my mouth and invited again a volunteer. The resulting kiss was indeed of a peculiar quality and so was the release too. In the third part I taped my torso and gain a volunteer dared to do the same, resulting in an intimate hug.
Performed in March 2011 in Arrt d'Acccio, Sinberifora, Valencia, Spain.
Later I did this performance in different variations, f.e. in Unstuck, A Handshake a Kiss and some Money and I Wanna Be Like. Although the idea is the same the result of this interactive action is always very different as so much depends on the temperament of the volunteer.
The sticky tape I also used in as an element in 6P, On Finding a Solution, One Way or the Other, A Stone from A to B and Back, Occupy Myself, Letter Soup and Esperanza.
