The Object

The theme of the event was the artist's relation with objects.
I brought a snowball from Finland.
After unwrapping the snowball from all the newspapers and ice cubes I took the cold ball on my left hand and started to walk in circles, thereby keeping the snowball in the center of the movement. I started to talk in Dutch, happy to perform for the first time in my home country. But soon the words were finished and the ball grew colder. I asked the audience to warm my right hand. Over the course of the action different people walked in circles with me, taking my hand and giving their warmth. In the very end I walked alone with an ever smaller piece of snow ice in my hand. I ended the action by touching my face with the warm and the cold hand.
