At this LAPSody festival and conference I presented a performance and a paper about the emergence of a performance artist...
The performance was set in a black box with strong lights from the ceiling.
I placed a candle, a glass vase with water and a small amount of white powder on a low table in front of me.
Fire was strictly forbidden in the space (theater academy...) so I just imitated a flame on the candle with my fingers.
I took out a reed, a mouthpiece and a garden hose and put all together as an instrument. A dark tone altered in squeaky noises and back to the deep rich tone.
I blew the dust into a fabulous cloud, put the hose into the water - blowing bubbling tones - and ended the session with quasi extinguishing the candle.
